What is Beacon?

Beacon is a community conference based in London, bringing offensive security professionals together.

As an events series, Beacon hosts meet-ups throughout the year and a main conference.

All are welcome, and alongside the vibrant red teamer population are threat hunters, SOC analysts and blue teamers in our community.

The talks at the main Beacon are technical masterclasses on offensive security, EDR evasion, stealth and quantum.

Beacon also hosts the C2 London User Group, a by-invitation meetup for top tier red teams.

Our Community

Specialising in offensive security and evasion techniques, the Beacon community is populated by stealthy professionals and vulnerability researchers.

We’re a collective of cyber practitioners brought together by our passion for red teaming, retro games, music and good vibes.

Beacon values are togetherness, collaboration, inspiring discourse, making new friends, sharing our knowledge and nurturing the next generation of emerging talent.

Our Previous Events

Beacon 2025: BSOD

Evoking Cyberdelia from the movie Hackers, Beacon hosts meet-ups in a retro games arcade with unlimited credits, prizes and pizza at our favourite arcade – Four Quarters East.

Beacon: C2 2024

For our third annual con in 2024, Beacon took over an eGames arena in Hackney, London, bringing the red team community together in a one-of-a-kind setting. The talks focused on multi-platform EDR evasion and exploitation, with insights shared by leading experts from Outflank Red Team, Cobalt Strike, WithSecure, SECFORCE, 6point6, and RedWave Labs.

True to Beacon’s spirit, the atmosphere was informal and social, with a retro games arcade after-party, a make-your-own merch stall, and plenty of space for connecting with peers. Highlights included a deep dive into red teaming on macOS, live subtitles and a Twitch stream for accessibility, and strong partnerships with Cobalt Strike, Outflank, and Fortra.

Beacon: Quantam Leap 2023

The second annual Beacon saw talks on EDR evasion, C2 frameworks, red team ethics and workflow – plus quantum encryption!

Our Values

Beacon speakers and attendees hail from around the world. To offset this, Beacon planted 2,000 trees in 2023 and a further 4,000 trees in 2024.

Our website is proudly hosted on green hosting provider Krystal, powered by 100% renewable energy. Plus, our merch is made using Continental Clothing who make sustainable clothing that is vegan friendly, organic, recycled and climate neutral.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are your events sustainable?

We aim to make our events as sustainable as possible. We do this by trying to ensure that the companies we use for merchandise and catering share the same standards and ethics as we do, using local businesses wherever possible. Furthermore, we partner closely with a tree planting organisation, in an attempt to counter some of the impact of travel and transportation.

Who speaks at your events?

Beacon’s speakers are largely made of friends, previous attendees and members of our community. We believe in the sharing of knowledge and would encourage anyone that has been to a Beacon event to consider submitting a talk proposal!

The backgrounds and employers of our speakers has varied as greatly as the topics of the talks, from small boutique offensive security specialists to vendors on the defensive side, government and healthcare to the big four, and everything in between.

When are your events?

We hold a main conference annually, normally in September. We hold quarterly meet-ups and more informal social events throughout the year.

How many days are your events?

Our main conference is a full day, continuing into the evening for the chance to socialise and network over pizza and a (non-alcoholic) beer.

Our quarterly meet-ups and socials take place in the evening.

Who are your events for?

Anyone with an interest in security is welcome at our events, from someone trying their first box on HTB, to seasoned bug hunters and exploit developers. We believe the diversity of the security community is its strength and we hope this is reflected in the Beacon attendees. We appreciate the technology industry is heavily male dominated and are very open to advice, suggestions or ideas of what we can do to counter this in our own little way.

Are your events accessible for people with additional needs?

The venues Beacon has been held at have varied greatly, each with their own obstacles as well as benefits. We hope that no one has been prevented from enjoying our events as much as we have, and if you are considering attending and have any additional requirements please do not hesitate to get in touch!
